    india gate is a war memorial in new delhi .
    it's a war memorial of soldiers of british indian army who died in the world war1 and also the hundred of soldiers who lost their life in the northwest frontier, afghan war of 1919 and indo-pak war 1971.
    it's a major tourist spot in delhi. it is also famous for picnic.there is a famous chuski ( ice gola ) stall at india gate. the stall is famous for it's different variety and taste.

    when we talk about beautiful tourist places in Delhi. we surely not miss our visit to this attractive monument. this is another UNESCO world heritage site in india which is visited by a wide range of tourists .

    the building contains the tomb of mughal emperor , humayun's. he died in 1556 aD . he was first buried in his palace in Purana quila .thereafter it was taken to Punjab by khanjar beg in 1558. the complex were built on the order of the first wife and chief consort of humayun's ,hamida banu begam . its construction took a lot time , it started in 1565 ad and completed in 1572 aD.

    it costed around 1.5 million at that time to build the complex . it construction was supervised by hamida banu begam. it was the first indian structure to use red stones on a very large scale. the complex also contains the tombs of various people's such as baber's, afsarwala and their minister's as well . it's structure was given by mirak mirza ghiyas and sayyid muhammad. it is an masterpiece of persian architecture

    the whole complex cover around 30 acres of area ,out of which 13 acres consist of garden known as char bagh. these gardens are persian style bagh with quadilateral layouts.

    this tomb was the last monumental tomb garden of mughals and this tomb is much more similar in structure to humayun's tomb. the tomb is made according to abyssininan architecture design. the tomb was built on the order of navab shujuad daula the son of navab safdarjung.

    like other famous places in delhi. this place is also famous for it's amazing ambience , photography and it's amazing architecture.

    BACKGROUND

    qutub minar is the tallest minaret made up of bricks in the world. it is an unesco world heritage site in india. the height of the building is around 73 metres approx. the founder of delhi sultanate , qutab-ud-din-aibak started

    the construction of this beautiful building. the construction began around 1192 and completed in1220.

    after aibak , lltutmish the son in law and the successor of aibak completed some of it's construction and later other successors completed further construction. it's architecture style is very beautiful.

    before 1974 , the tourist were allowed to have access to the top of the building .but after the dangerous lighting incident happened on 4 december 1981in which many people died and some injured. the visitor were not allowed to have access to the top.

    the building is made up of 5 storeys out of which first 3 stories are made of red standstones and the remaining two are made of marbels and standstone.

    3. museum  – which preserves and shows the various excavations that were found in that area.

    this temple is situated in karol bagh and is very much close to the jhandewalan temple. the temple is famous for it's 108 foot long idol of lord hanuman. the entrance of this temple is very unique . it seems like a mouth of a gigantic monster.

    Tuesday and saturday are considered as the days of lord hanuman and on these days large gathering of devotees is seen at this place. and on these 2 days a fascinating events happens, in which the statue of lord hanuman closes his hands which enables the devotees to have a glimpse of the adorable idols of lord shri ram and devi sita.
    this mesmerizing event is held at 8:15 am and 8:15 pm .

    3. GURDWARA SIS GANJ SAHIB

    gurudwara sis ganj sahib was first constructed by baghel singh in 1783. it was built to memorialize the suffering faced by the ninth sikh guru ,guru tegh bahadur. who was killed by the mughal emperor aurangzeb because he refused to convert hismelf into muslim, on 11 november 1675. guru tegh bahadur also protested against the forceful conversion of non- muslims to muslim under aurangzeb regime.

    However, before his body could exposed to public. it was stolen by one of his follower, Lakhi Shah Vanjara who, then burnt his house to cremate Guru's body; today, that site stands as gurudwara rakab ganj sahib. the gurudwara serves langar ( food ) throughout the entire day. to the large number of devotees. anyone can come have langar at this place.

    this temple is just at a walking distance of 5 min from the gurudwara sis ganj sahib. according to the history a Maratha soldier, apa ganga dhar started the construction of this temple . This temple is an 800-year-old ancient temple .the temple is dedicated to lord shiva and his wife parvati. it is one of the significant temple of hindu religion.

    the best time to visit the temple is on shivratri , an hindu festival. shivratri is celebrated annually to honour the lord shiva. on this occasion the temple is decorated with lights and flowers. and in normal days the best time is to visit during aarti .
